What is the fastest target acquisition system for rifle hunting?

What is the fastest target acquisition system for rifle Hunting? Like a scope? Red dot? Iron sights?

I am looking for something on my .22 for rabbit and grouse and it needs to be quick to line up for the shot.

PS: A weblink to a picture would be great aswell.

Thanks.

That answer is easy and obvious. The electronic red dot sight (EOTech’s HWS as an example) is EASILY the fastest sight to get on target in any weather or lighting conditions, bar none.

With iron sights, you STILL have to line up your sights to each other and THEN onto your target. The electronic sight only requires you to shoulder your weapon, place the dot on target and squeeze the trigger. (Takes less than 1 second total time)

Ever wonder why the military went to the HWS rather than simply replace the M-16s iron sights with tritium ones for night fighting? It’s for the reason stated above…Iron sights of any type are slower to acquire a target with than an electronic red dot sight.

If you’ve never used one before, you’ll be amazed at just how fast you can get on target and fire an accurate shot.

I use the EOTech electronic sights on several of my firearms and they work awesome for moving targets.

There will be exceptions for some circumstances, but overall, the fastest seems to be the open aperture.

I own a set of $3,000 dollar golf clubs. I am a 17 handi-cap. Tiger could pick up a set from the pawn shop or the Salavation Army and he would beat me.

Why is the question, Simple—-Practice,practice, practice

First of all I would invest in a good shotgun for birds and rabbits but if you want to stick with the rifle a red dot scope will put you on target fast. Go to Cabelas.com and type in red dot scopes in the search bracket.
