Leopards and Cheetahs will usually kill their prey before they begin to eat, this is because they are generally hunting alone and can’t risk the prey running off or fighting back as they eat. Lions however will often start to feed WHILST the prey is being killed (there are plenty of videos to show this). Hyenas and wild dogs kill by eating their prey alive, its gory but in many cases quicker than a strangle hold
