well you need download the correct import papers for italy and get them signed by a vet in the US. also chips need to be implanted. its italy your dealing with so who knows what to expect from the officials. remember US chips are on the opposite side of the dogs then European ones. also a special chip is needed.
to prepare. get a direct flight. get sleeping meds for dogs, get health certificate no more then 1 week in advance. get regulation ok crates that are not too big.
References :
how to prepare your dogs for overseas travel... help?
I have two dogs a small shih tzu and chihuahua. They are going to be moving with my husband and I over to Italy because of the military. I want to know how I can prepare my dogs for travel to make them comfortable. They are used to moving around alot, and very good traveling in the car, but they have never been on a plane. They both just turned 3 years old.
also is there any websites out there to assist me as well?
