Bass Fishing Sweeping Method

Join me on a little outing where I catch bass in a most unconventional way. I call it ‘Sweeping’ and in this episode of ‘Another Walk with Mike’ you’ll discover how exciting this method can be. I came up with the technique after having bass hit my buzz bait just as I was pulling it out of the water. Finally, after one such strike I pushed my pole back in the water and Bam! A method was born. Similiar to doodlesocking or jigger pole Fishing, sweeping is best done from a kayak. Watch my video and see for yourself. It is as exciting as it can be. Also, enjoy my other wildlife walks and nature tour videos.

    This is a good …
    This is a good technique…only changes I’d make are…
    - need more slack for better hooksetting
    -more slower retrieve to give the fish a chance to really hammer it

    will the approach …
    will the approach of planet NIBIRU cause the fish to stop hitting in the pond next to the weeds?

    thats no fun, the …
    thats no fun, the fish wouldnt put up a big fight when ther so close to the actual pole, just snag a fish and pull the rod outta the water= no fun! unless you have drag on so the fishin swims away and them u can reel the baby in! :D

    @IIIIJumpMan Great …
    @IIIIJumpMan Great feedback. I have fished previously unproductive areas and caught one after another using this method. It felt like cheating. But, then came times where it yielded nothing and contemprary methods prevailed. But yes, it has its place and can be extremely productive. If I could have only caught on film some of my experiences with this, people would not believe it. Unfortunately, I can’t fish right now, much less film.

    @thegunit1400 Good comment. Yes, I have a 20 foot jiggerpole and although trying on my wrists, is quite successful. I just never thought this would work on such a short pole right on the fish.
